In any case, it seems as though King Shark will soon have to contend not only these upcoming animal fighters but Waller's Suicide Squad as well who will most likely intrude on the Wild Games tournament. While James Gunn's version of King Shark in The Suicide Squad has his savagery despite being largely characterized as dumb and lovable, the comics' King Shark is going to have to tap into a greater frenzy than he's already displayed if he wants to prove himself as the most powerful animal hybrid. Furthermore, Waller has grown increasingly concerned about losing one of her best assets, so much so that she's forced King Shark's father to open a portal so she can send one of her teams to collect Nanaue, wanting him back at all costs. While seeing King Shark fighting other animal demigod hybrids is entertaining, it's interesting that Nanaue is having to fight so hard to stay in the game. However, while Nanaue is still in the Wild Games, the stakes are even higher as his next opponents promise to be even more of a challenge, (especially with Defacer trying to throw him off his game with DC's version of the "Baby Shark" song). In Suicide Squad: King Shark #2 from writer Tim Seely and Scott Kolins, Nanaue has already taken a massive beating by Prince Nematode, a giant mass of worms that proved to be more powerful than King Shark was expecting. Unable to control King Shark with a neck bomb, Defacer has become Waller's insurance instead, motivating the small-time villain to do everything she can to bring King Shark home. While Defacer isn't fighting in the Wild Games, her secret mission is to try and make Nanaue lose as the exemplar representative of the seas, seeing as how Waller will kill her if she doesn't make sure King Shark returns to Task Force X.

Thus far in King Shark's new series, Nanaue has been joined by another one of Waller's inmates known as Defacer, whom King Shark has taken a liking to. Now, Nanaue's dad has summoned King Shark to prove himself in the interdimensional Wild Games, but Nanaue is going to be facing some stiff competition. While the shark demi-god has been a part of Amanda Waller's Suicide Squad for a long time, it's apparently the result of a deal Waller made with King Shark's father Lord Chondrakha, the Lord of all Sharks. In DC's new Suicide Squad: King Shark series, Nanaue will prove why he's the king by becoming the most powerful animal-hybrid in the DC Universe. Warning! Spoilers ahead for Suicide Squad: King Shark #2
